Marcia Neblett was born in New York City. She studied at Cornell University and the Arts Students League of New York before receiving a B.F.A. from Purchase College/SUNY, and an M.F.A. from SUNY Stony Brook in painting and printmaking.
Marcia was a Fulbright Scholar in India (2007) where she lectured in printmaking and drawing, and also produced new works of art. Her prints and drawings have been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the US, (Pierogi, AIR, The Bronx Museum of the Arts, The Everson Museum of Art, The Plains Art Museum and the Muscarelle Museum of Art); and in India, in Chennai (Lalit Kala Akademy) and in Mumbai (Nehru Center).
Marcia is a recipient of numerous grants and fellowships; among these are two MacDowell Fellowships; the Jerome Foundation Printmaking Fellowship, the New York Foundation for the Arts (SOS Project Grant), the Alden B. Dow Creativity Fellowship and the Fulbright Scholar Grant.
Marcia is a Professor of Foundation Studies at The Savannah College of Art and Design.
